ESET, a global leader in cybersecurity, has received Level 1 MRG Effitas Online Banking/Browser Security Certification for their ESET Internet Security product.
MRG Effitas, a world leader in independent IT security efficacy testing, research and expertise, has awarded ESET Internet Security Level 1 certification in their Online Banking/Browser Security Certification Q1 2019 Report. ESET was one of only four vendors to achieve certification, out of a total of nine vendors tested.
As the only testing house in the world to test against 100% in-the-wild threats, MRG Effitas is at the forefront of online banking testing. The Online Banking/Browser Security Certification Programme is the de facto standard by which security vendors, financial institutions and corporations can attain the most rigorous and accurate determination of a product’s efficacy against current financial malware attacks.
The report employed three individual tests: an in-the-wild real financial malware test, a botnet test using a banking Trojan and a credit card skimming simulator test. Through the simulation of normal user behaviour, the tests illuminate how financial malware works, how it attacks and how such attacks could be prevented – ensuring the highest standard of protection.
Elöd Kironský, head of core technology development at ESET, commented: “This certification is a reflection of ESET’s dedication to protecting users in all facets of their online experience. Whether online banking or shopping, ensuring our users’ personal information and credentials are protected from financial malware is of the highest importance. As financial malware becomes an increasingly pertinent threat to users, we are proud to provide a reliable solution that keeps consumers around the world safe and protected.”
